Hello Hinckley-Big Rock! I'm Bridget Wilkening, a proud alumni of Hinckley-Big Rock, having graduated in 2023. I am now currently attending Joliet Junior College and majoring in Agricultural Business. I'm really enjoying meeting new people and being a part of the Student Agriculture Association where I was elected Vice President of Agriculture Business.
With the days I'm not in school, I am working as a Paraprofessional at Hinckley-Big Rock Elementary School with the early childhood program. I enjoy working with the students and learning new ways to help them grow. When I graduated, I never thought I would have been working in the school I grew up in.
During my high school days, I was deeply involved in FFA, holding a chapter officer position from my sophomore to senior year. Hosting events, attending leadership conferences, and diving into internships were integral parts of my FFA experience. As a freshman, I started to complete a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) Record book. I kept track of the hours and paychecks while working at Dairy Joy. I continued to keep track throughout high school and eventually added a Fireside Grill, Agriculture in the Classroom, and work as a paraprofessional.
Junior year marked a significant milestone as I traveled to Springfield, Illinois, to receive my FFA State Degree. Currently, my sights are set on achieving my American Degree in October 2024. Reflecting on my journey from being a student at HBR to my current endeavors, I can't help but appreciate the unique experiences that have shaped my present and promise to benefit my future.
