An English Learner is defined as a student who has a language background other than English, as indicted on the Home Language Survey completed by parents or guardians. An individual English Language Proficiency screen will determine the student’s eligibility for EL services.

HBR offers English Learners support through a collaborative transitional program of instruction (TPI) approach. A licensed ESL teacher collaborates with our building level student assistance team and team of interventionists to provide an individualized approach to supporting students with English language acquisition.
