HBRMS would like to recognize our Crochet Club which was started this year by two of our 6th grade students! Evelyn Martin and Yaretzi Hernandez-Garcia started talking about crocheting one day and Evelyn said she could teach Yare and Mrs. Torman if we wanted- and of course, we said yes!
Quickly other students started hearing about the opportunity and wanted to join and the Crochet Club was born. One of the first additions to the club was Bella Casanas and these three students made posters, hall passes, and thank-you certificates for students who participated in the club.
It’s been an amazing experience and full of fun to watch students who have never crocheted before learn a new skill. The students work together to learn and get better each week. The conference room is always full of laughter and chatter when the students meet and the people working in the office love the positive energy and excitement they bring each day!
We are really proud of the work they’ve done and are so excited to continue meeting throughout the school year!
