Hello!
My name is Bonnie Osborne, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Director of Student Services here in HBR! As I’ve stepped into this new role, I have been truly blown away by the warmth and support that define our school community. I am eager to learn, grow, and collaborate with all of you to continue enhancing the educational experience for our students.
Before stepping into this role, I have had the privilege of serving students as a Principal, Special Education Coordinator, and Special Education Teacher, serving in the communities of Aurora, Downers Grove, Oswego, Cicero and DeKalb. These experiences span across various age groups, including preschool and transition-age students, and I’ve loved each of them! Each of my roles has allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of diverse needs, as well as work collaboratively with students, families, and staff to ensure that every student has the support they need to thrive. I am committed to leveraging this experience to support our students and families effectively.
I’d like to share a little bit about myself with you. I live close by in Yorkville with my son and daughter. They have been enrolled in a dual language program since kindergarten and just entered 5th grade and 7th grade. It’s been an amazing journey watching them learn and grow in all their skills, but especially in their bilingualism! Together, we love playing with our 3 year old dachshund/lab mix, watching movies, baking and traveling. We will soon be a blended family, adding my fiance and his twin boys into the mix. It’s going to be a busy calendar but I’m so happy for all the extra love we will have in the house.
I’ve already felt so warmly welcomed and am grateful for that. I am excited to work alongside all of our school community to support teaching and learning across the district, supporting success for ALL students.
My Best,
Bonnie Osborne
